Selvhjelp for Innvandrere og Flyktninger/Self-help for migrants and refugees (SEIF)

SEIF is a voluntary and independent organisation, established in 1986. It provides support to migrants and refugees. The aim of the organisation is to help migrants and refugees find their way into the Norwegian society, and to obtain sufficient information to be able to find solutions to their problems. SEIF cooperates with people from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds and receives annually around 11.000 consultations from more than 100 nationalities.

Únia rómskych materských centier (ÚRMC)

URMC is a network organisation associating active Roma women from 9 municipalities in the Banská Bystrica region in Slovakia. Their priority is to “emancipate the Roma woman”, which they try to achieve through activities focused on personal growth and strengthening of the position of their members in their own communities. The organisation focuses mainly on community organising and community building. Its members directly work mostly with women, but often also with whole families. They support them in overcoming of consequences of social exclusion, racism or sexism. The activists from URMC promote the values of gender equality in their communities and strive for better coexistence of all people irrespective of their ethnicity. URMC regularly organises community meetings, talks, workshops or cultural and sport events.

Utopia

Association Utopia was established in the year 2010 to support deepening of democratic processes in society and building citizens' participation. The main mission of the organisation is to promote active citizenship and participatory community development, and to create and implement social innovations aiming at alleviation of poverty and social exclusion through fostering democratic cooperation and support of participatory processes in political decision-making and local socio-economic development. The organisation is the first NGO in Slovakia to introduce and implement the concept and method of participatory budgeting in several major Slovak cities such as Bratislava, Trnava or Banská Bystrica. Utopia‘s experts have been currently acting as consultants on the design of participatory processes in the Trnava Region and leading the participatory planning of the future development of the whole campus of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The organisation promotes economic participation with the main focus on social and solidarity economy as a democratic way of local and regional development and a tool of empowerment of people aiming at reduction of poverty and social exclusion of the economically disenfranchised.
